Temple of Philae

Edfu Temple

This ancient temple was a place of worship for the Ptolemaic Pharaohs, built from sandstone and dedicated to Horus, the falcon-headed god). Ancient Egyptians believed the temple was built right where the infamous battle of Horus and Seth took place.



Temple of Luxor

Constructed over hundreds of years by Amenhotep III, Ramses II, Tutankhamun, and other pharaohs, Luxor Temple was a large and significant religious center in ancient Egypt. In what was then Thebes, Luxor Temple was “the place of the First Occasion,” where the god Amon experienced rebirth during the pharaoh’s annually reenacted coronation ceremony. Today, remains of this vast complex include the colossal Great Colonnade Hall, almost 61 meters long, with 28 twenty-one-foot-high columns, its decoration largely undertaken by Tutankhamun around 1330 B.C. Many of the temple’s sidewalls were torn down after the time of the pharaohs and recycled for building materials.



Valley of Kings

The Valley of the Kings is one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world, it refers to the sloping cliffs above the western floodplain, where the bodies of the pharaohs were laid to rest in tombs cut deep into the rock. These tombs range in size from single chamber burials to massive complexes spanning several thousand square meters.



Temple of Queen Hatshepsut

This extraordinary beautiful Hatshepsut temple is also known as Djeser-Djeseru that was built for the Eighteenth Dynasty “Pharaoh Queen Hatshepsut“. It is one of the incomparable temples of ancient Egypt that is considered to be the greatest ancient Egyptian achievements. It is dedicated to Hatshepsut and Amun. Queen Hatshepsut was always aware of the ways to elevate her public image and immortalize her name, the Mortuary temple achieved both ends. She was the daughter of a very powerful god in Egypt and that’s why she ruled as a man would.



The High Dam

The High Dam, located near Aswan, Egypt, is one of the country’s most impressive modern engineering feats. Built between 1960 and 1970, it controls the flow of the Nile River, preventing flooding, regulating irrigation, and providing hydroelectric power. A visit to the High Dam offers stunning views of the Nile.
